Change Stories

Hello, my name is Jacinta and I am a teacher and live in a village in Timor-Leste. Before I started the teacher training, it was difficult to get the students attention in class. Through this training I have learnt how to prepare lesson plans, manage classrooms and protect my students.
I have shared what I have learned within the community and my hope is in future they will apply what they have learned in life and in the community too.
The “Teacher Training and Tetun Literacy program” is supported by the Australian Government through the Australian NGO Cooperation Program (ANCP).
Thank you for your support.

Meet Moises who is a teacher in Timor-Leste. ❤
Moises has participated in our Health Literacy Program which trains teachers on how to convey vital health information in a fun and interactive environment.
“The challenge we faced before participating in this training such as lack of basic sanitation, water supply, toilets, trash cans, waste disposal points … The training increased our knowledge and now we know about the basic health education such as communicable disease and prevention … The resources we received we can use to teach children at school in the classroom.”
This project is also supported by the Australian Government through the Australian NGO Cooperation Program (ANCP).
